Candle Care and Safety Instructions

Safety Precautions

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to sleep.
  2. Keep candles away from flammable materials including curtains, paper, furniture, and decorative items.
  3. Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface to prevent tipping or heat damage.
  4. REMOVE ALL TOPPINGS BEFORE LIGHTING. Decorative elements such as dried flowers, herbs, and crystals are for aesthetic purposes only and can be a fire hazard.
  5. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents to prevent rapid, uneven burning and excessive dripping.
  6. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.

Proper Burning Technique

  1. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting to prevent excessive flames and smoking.
  2. For the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface (approximately 1 hour per inch of container diameter) to prevent tunneling.
  3. Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating.
  4. ALWAYS MAINTAIN AT LEAST ½ INCH OF WAX AT THE BOTTOM of the container before discarding. Burning a candle all the way down can cause excessive heat and potentially cause the container to crack or explode.
  5. Extinguish candles properly using a candle snuffer or by dipping the wick into the melted wax and straightening it. Avoid blowing out candles as this can cause hot wax to splatter.

Candle Maintenance

  1. Keep the wax pool free of debris such as wick trimmings or matches.
  2. Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading and warping.
  3. Discard a candle when only ½ inch of wax remains in the container.
