Candle Care and Safety Instructions
Safety Precautions
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials including curtains, paper, furniture, and decorative items.
- Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface to prevent tipping or heat damage.
- REMOVE ALL TOPPINGS BEFORE LIGHTING. Decorative elements such as dried flowers, herbs, and crystals are for aesthetic purposes only and can be a fire hazard.
- Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents to prevent rapid, uneven burning and excessive dripping.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.
Proper Burning Technique
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting to prevent excessive flames and smoking.
- For the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface (approximately 1 hour per inch of container diameter) to prevent tunneling.
- Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating.
- ALWAYS MAINTAIN AT LEAST ½ INCH OF WAX AT THE BOTTOM of the container before discarding. Burning a candle all the way down can cause excessive heat and potentially cause the container to crack or explode.
- Extinguish candles properly using a candle snuffer or by dipping the wick into the melted wax and straightening it. Avoid blowing out candles as this can cause hot wax to splatter.
Candle Maintenance
- Keep the wax pool free of debris such as wick trimmings or matches.
- Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading and warping.
- Discard a candle when only ½ inch of wax remains in the container.
